Strong winds are a challenge to all types of gas detectors. Here, we show some recent examples for detecting ethylene in a realistic field trial. Two of our scanfeld sensors monitor the area from a large distance and a small amount of gas is released within 10 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pictures 4&5 show the camera images of the area with an overlay of the gas density in false colors. Due to the strong winds of >30 km\/h the ethylene gets dispersed rapidly and is removed from the site within under one minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A typical spectral fingerprint of the ethylene and its exact measurement location are given in 2&3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
scanfeld provides additional safety by warning early in case of unwanted gas releases in the surveyed area. The results show that a fast response is possible even under adverse conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
